As you find your way around our site and other DW (destination wedding) sites you'll start to see so many words and abbreviations that aren't familiar to you that it'll make your head spin. Take a moment to familiarize yourself with some of the more common ones here and refer back whenever you need to.

AHR - At Home Reception

AI - All Inclusive

BP - Boarding Pass

BFF - Best Friend Forever

BIL/FBIL - Brother-in-law / Future Brother-in-law

BM - Best Man / Bridesmaid

DH - Dear Husband

DW - Destination Wedding

FH - Future Husband

FI - Fiance

FIL/FFIL - Father-in-law / Future Father-in-law

FNF - Friends and Family

FOB - Father of Bride

FOG - Father of Groom

FW - Future Wife

GM - Grooms Men

H2B - Husband to Be

MIL / FMIL - Mother-in-law / Future Mother-in-law

MOB - Mother of Bride

MOH - Maid of Honor

OOT - Out of Town

OOTB - Out of Town Bags

OTT - Over the Top

PPL - People

SIL / FSIL - Sister-in-law / Future Sister-in-law

SO - Significant Other

STBMrs - Soon to be Mrs.

STD - Save the Date

TA - Travel Agent

TTD - Trash the Dress

WP - Wedding Planner

XW/XH - Ex-wife / Ex-husband

If couples are thinking of getting married in Australia they may notice CMC for Civil Marriage Celebrant. A non religious celebrant/officiant needs those letters after their name to be legally authorised to perform marriages in Australia
